Happy Mardi Gras!

I hope this day treats you well.

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. On Sunday night for Vespers, the gathered were invited to join the church to participate in Lent. I presented my thoughts about how you can participate in this season and and why. My thoughts are printed in a document on the Welcome Center Table outside the Chapel. But, if you would like an electronic copy, I can arrange that. Please email. I am considering posting it here as well.

In a similar vein, I hope you will join us tomorrow night for our Bible Study and Prayer Service. Following our prayers, FBC Mobile member, Will Mangham will offer his first of two presentations on health, stewardship and faith. It will be an excellent lesson and conversation. I hope you do not miss out.

Finally, when you get here tomorrow night, you will notice a TV in the chapel (gasp!).
Let me assure you that this is a tool, but not a fixture. Will needs a way to present some things visually and I have needed the same in the past.
So, the time was right. A donation was made. Now, we have access to our own video screen when we need it.  Thanks be to God (but we are not about to go ‘all contemporary or anything’).

That’s all for today. Have a great week and I hope that if we don’t see you tomorrow that we will see you on Sunday for the first Sunday of Lent and our sermon on Baptism and Adventure.

Peace, Chris Aho
