Happy Wednesday. We all hope your week is progressing well and thank you for checking in.
Tonight, we will meet for our Final Night* of our What A Fellowship! series on Wednesday Nights.
Sunday, September 30, we complete our series of sermons from James with “Oh…One More Thing” from James 5. There will be no Sunday evening activities.
Next week begins a break for the Tuesday Noon Bible Study Group. They will resume later in the Fall.
Next Wednesday, October 3, Jeanette Havens will share about her family’s summer of mission work in Europe. Wednesday Night Prayer Group begins at 6pm.
And Sunday, October 7, we will celebrate World Communion Sunday.
Looking Ahead to other activities:
A Page has been added for Reading with the Rev. We will discuss, Was America Founded as a Christian Nation? on Tuesday, October 16 at 7pm.
We will discuss, Brian McLaren’s, Why Did Jesus, Moses, The Buddha and Mohammed Cross the Road? on November 13 at 7pm.
Copies of both books are available from Chris Aho.
Finally, Can you Make a 90 Commitment?
On Sunday Night, October 7 at 6pm, we will meet as the Bible Readers and consider a commitment to read scripture for the next 90 days. We will offer several reading plans including, the whole bible, the New Testament and plans to read seasonally through the end of fall and Advent in to Epiphany. Giving 90 days now will help frame the holidays, end the year with spiritual purpose and start 2013 off on the right foot.
All are welcome, previous readers of course, but especially new readers. Please join us and let’s read together.
*Now, the asterisk. We will have a What a Fellowship! encore on October 10. On the 10th we will share our dreams for our congregation. We will share in an open discussion for hopes, dreams and even a little discovery.
Thanks for reading and checking in with Hillcrest.
